PACE: Floating Support Worker


JOB TITLE: PACE FLOATING SUPPORT WORKER

REPORTING TO: TRAINING AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The provision of a floating support service to people with convictions
who have been to prison or are under the supervision of the Probation
Service. The role will be split between PACE Accommodation Services
and PACE Training and Employment Services including an element of
outreach work.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Working effectively with key partners (such as Probation Services
and Irish Prison Service) and agencies to assist a co-ordinated
multi-agency response to the needs of the client group.
* Undertaking referral interviews and full needs assessments both
within the prison and within the community for applicants to the
service when needed.
* Representing PACE to explain the services to prisoners at
pre-release groups in prisons.
* Ensuring that needs assessments, support plans and risk
assessments are carried out effectively and monitored systematically
and regularly.
* Monitoring and recording the progress of service users against
support plans, reviewing those plans regularly. Undertaking a final
assessment of the service user before the support service ceases.
* To develop risk management strategies with regard to addiction and
relapse prevention where appropriate
* Supporting service users with the process of finding and securing
suitable permanent accommodation
* Reporting verbally and in writing, monitoring activities
accurately and comprehensively to the Training and Social Enterprise
Manager.
* Observe all policies, procedures and systems
* Ensure working in carried out in a safe manner and meeting service
users in a safe location and follow PACE Lone Working procedures to
protect own safety.
* Promote effective communication and team work.
* Participate in team meetings and supervision with Line Manager.
* Maintain detailed records of work time and how it is used.
* To maintain and use the Outcomes Star tool in an effective and
meaningful way
* To update the Client record management system on an ongoing basis
* To collaborate with team members in the fair division of cases
amongst the team
* To follow best practice in relation to case management
* To maintain detailed records of all contact and interventions with
service users
* To maintain the confidentiality of the service and the service
user
* To refer any media or other enquiries about the service to PACE
Head Office
* To participate in the development of the team and PACE's overall
aims through attending staff meetings and other external meetings
where appropriate.
* To participate in training opportunities identified in supervision
and made available by PACE.

ANY OTHER DUTIES AS DESIGNATED BY THE CEO AND/OR ACCOMMODATION
SERVICES MANAGER.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

* Minimum Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications in
social care or equivalent.
* Have a minimum of 3-year experience of key working individuals
with complex needs.
* Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
* Experience in managing incidents in a calm and professional
manner.
* Experience in conducting Risk Management and implementing Risks
Management Plans.
* Experience of interagency work.
* Experience of lone working.
* Ability to take direction and complete work as requested and
within the specified timeframe.
* To have a clear understanding of professional boundaries in
relation to service users and colleagues from within and outside the
service.
* Transport and a full clean driver’s license.
* Will be Garda vetted.

DESIRABLE

* Knowledge of Prison and Probation Services
* Experience using Salesforce and the Outcome Star
* Standard First Aid Training
* Experience of working with people with addiction or mental health
issues
* Experience of working with homeless services and progressing
people out of homelessness
* An awareness and an understanding of the issues that affect people
with an offending background

Salary: *K (depending on experience) 
Hours: * hours per week, to include evening and
weekend work when necessary
Holidays: * days annually
Clean Driving Licence (essential) 
Post is subject to Garda Vetting and there will be a probationary
period
